Week 16 Observations

1. Luke Surges. Peterborough has had a steady run of above average weeks, and now he is tied for first place. While his achievements have been denigrated by some ("Put a monkey in a cage with a typewriter and eventually he will type out Macbeth," scoffed Deland when asked about Peterborough's success, prompting Luke to reply, "I am surprised Deland has even heard of Macbeth"), more generous members wish him well.

2. The Closest Race EVAH! With Wayne and Luke tied for first with 161 points and Ed and Jo right behind them at 160, this is the closest race ever. The Millie rests on this week's choices.

3. Red-Faced. The Commish is disappointed and embarrassed to have fallen behind Deland in points total. He has vowed to do everything possible to gain ascendancy on Deland "once and for all." He declined to explain what he meant by that.

Why Singular Picks Are Not Rewarded

Much has been made by some league members that singular picks should be rewarded with additional points. The reasoning is that giving extra points for a difficult achievement should be recognized, that having sources of extra points brings more excitement to the picking process, and that it would provide an avenue for members who are woefully behind the league leaders to catch up. All of these points have been presented to the Senior Advisory Council, and on one occasion the SAC endorsed one such recommendation. However, the Commissioner vetoed it.

While such schemes undoubtedly would bring excitement to the process, that alone should not be the deciding factor. Empty excitement should be achieved elsewhere. A multitude of points degrades each original point. A person who is everywhere is nowhere. Any number of bizarre schemes could be employed to do this, and for each one allowed, the intent and purpose of the league is diminished. Why not 3 points each of Thursday and Monday games?  Two points for every underdog win? One point for a one o'clock win, two points for a four thirty, and three points for Sunday night?

Before long, a person could hit all of those games and out-point the person with the actual better record for the week. The purpose of the league is not to provide people who have made unsuccessful picks a wide avenue for advancement. Rather, it is to reward people who make successful picks.

Secondly, the risk for inaccurate accounting of picks grows exponentially with each gimmick employed. As our IT expert Guido Gonzales explains, the more combinations and permutations that exist, the greater the chance of errors in the computation of points awarded. Given the indignation and bluster that accompanies each small and easily correctable error currently, the apoplectic response to a multiple of errors weekly is horrible to imagine.

Thirdly, the bargaining agreement between the league and the IT contractors requires extra compensation for extra work, so the laborious task of compiling each multi-faceted statistics for each week will cost the league more money and resources. Given the league members somewhat spotty record of paying their dues, this puts even more pressure on the Commissioner to find ways to pay for the changes.

When the league started, the Commish argued that giving 2 points for a Monday night win would inevitably engender calls for more avenues for extra points by those who are challenged to make successful picks. That seems to be happening now, and the Commish has pledged to hold the line on the gimmicks and schemes of those who would transform the league to a wonderland of arbitrary point generation.

The Commish has spoken.

I just have one question... don't I get 2 points for being the only one picking the Rams?????!!!  Ha ha!  If this rule was implemented, I would most definitely be in the lead.  This is definitely an attempt by the Commish to force uniformity.

Week 15 Observations

1. It is Getting Tight! Wayne is holding on at 151, but close on his heals are Ed and Luke with 150. Jo is two points behind with 149. Karen is next with 146,  Patrick with 145 and newcomer Marc with 144.  With two weeks to go there are only 2 points separating the top four members!

2. Luke Moves Up. Luke moved up the most by posting a 13-3 week and winning Monday Night. He picked up 3 points on Wayne, and one point on Ed and Jo.

3. Pick of the Week. Luke was the only member to pick the Falcons and one of only three to pick the Lions for Monday night.

Week 14 Observations

1. There is a New Sheriff in Town. Omaha won the week with 12 points and lept ahead of the Ghost by 3 points and the Boss by 4. Wayne's week featured a Monday Night win, edging out Luke, Kevin and Sean who had 11 points each.

2. Big Red's Last Two Weeks. Karen was 8-8 week 13 losing valuable points to Omaha, amongst others. She had a better week this week, but lost two more points to Omaha. At 133, she is now 7 points off the lead, still in the running but without much wiggle room with only 3 weeks left.

3. How the Mighty Have Fallen. Jo had her second 8-8 week in a row, and it is a testament to how solid her lead was that she is only 4 points behind the lead today. Omaha surged as the Boss staggered, and the punishment was quick.

4. As it Stands Right Now.
          1. Wayne 140
          2. Ed 137
          3. Jo 136
          3. Luke 136
          5. Karen 133
          5. Patrick 133

5. There is a Serpent in the Garden. Don't look now, but Deland has 130 points, only 10 off the pace. Bottom feeding for most of the year, he has somehow put together a few good weeks.

Week 14 Picks

Where da picks?

The commish was spotted at the residence of Roger Goodell. Inside sources claim they met to discuss altering certain members picks to quote "balance out the league standings". The source also says this is because of complaints made by Deland. Deland claims his picks are "better than his stats" and he wants that "corrected". So he called in a favor from the commish. When reached for a comment, the commish responded with a string of obscenities.

re: copycats

While there exists a great deal of interest amongst league members to know Omaha's picks before they make theirs, it is not clear whether they want to copy them or avoid them. However, I have instructed Guido Gonzales to treat his picks with utmost security.  GG has assured me that no one can possibly see Omaha's picks except if they really wanted to. He also informed me that, by some computer glitch, his picks have been denied to him, but any other members could access them. This has been rectified, GG said through his parole officer.

Week 13 Observations

1. It is All Tied Up.  Jo slipped a bit with an 8-8 week, allowing the Ghost (10-6) and Omaha (12-4) to tie her for first place.

2. Moving On Up.  Luke (9-7) gained a bit as well, moving up to fourth place with 125. Patrick (10-6) moved up to tie Karen (8-8) for fifth with 123. Brandy with a 10-6 week now is tied with Marc (8-8) with 121.

3. Deland Slouches Toward Respectability.  Kevin won the week with a 13-3 week for 14 points. He now has 119 points, only 9 points from the lead.

The two leaders of the Go Zone football league are Jo and Ed. They have the same pick in 12 games, but in four others they differ.

  • Jo picked the Giants, Ed the Jets;
  • Jo picked the Bucs, Ed the Falcons;
  • Jo picked the Jags, Ed the Titans;
  • and Jo picked the Raiders, Ed the Chiefs.

2. Keeping it in the Family. Winning the week was Marc and Luke with 12 points. Marc got his by posting a 12-4 week, and Luke got his with an 11-5 week but winning Monday night as well.

3. The Leaders Bunch Up.  Jo also lost ground to both Wayne (11 points) and Karen (12).  The totals are Jo 120, Ed 118, Wayne and Luke 116, Karen 115, Patrick 113 and Marc 112.

Observations for Week 11

1.The Race Tightens a Bit. Jo held on to her lead, but it is down to 4 over the Ghost. Both were bolstered by picking the Pats on Monday Night, thereby gaining an extra point.

2. The Commish is a Winner! The Commish won the week, going 10-4, but his previous abysmal 5 weeks dooms him to an equally abysmal 99 points. He refrained from calling all members of his gender to try harder for the entire male sex. He assumed everyone was trying as hard as they could all along.

3. The 100's are the Elite. Six league members have totals in the 100's. Jo with 111, Ed with 107, Wayne and Karen with 105, Patrick with 104. Luke with 103 and Brandy with 102.

4. Numbers are Strange. After 11 weeks, Wayne and Karen has the exact same points. The Commish and his son Marc also share the same point total, and Kevin and his son Sean are only off by one point. It seems strange that after 11 weeks, the only members of the league who share the same point total are either related or married.

5. The Warthog in the Room. Well, I guess it is time to discuss it. Once again, a league member has picked against the Patriots. And, once again it was a pick for the Bills. I'm not sure what it is that makes the Bills so attractive, especially at Foxborough. Maybe it is the bombast from their coach. Ryan was hoping to get in the heads of Belichick and Brady, but instead he hypnotized one of league members from Connecticut. Or, as some members have suggested, maybe all of his Pats picks have been camouflage for a New York loving, Patriot hater all along. I don't know why or what happened to crack him this week. I only know he is two points lighter for the effort.

Some members have complained to the main league office, wondering if he is really a citizen of the US or if maybe he is some sort of refugee who says he wants to move here because he loves Americans, but is actually here to rip aways from us all that we hold sacred. I can't say one way or the other. I've spoken to the man and he seems calm and considerate, but just remember, many children loved Hitler until his actual foul natured showed up. Is he a refugee? Who knows. I know I have never seen his birth certificate, so I can't be any help here.

As commissioner, I want to make it clear that no league member can be punished, sanctioned or fined for picks that are unpopular. Love of the Patriots is taken for granted in this league. Well, at least it used to be, but all members should retrain themselves from retaliating with base actions. That is what the refugees want, to brings us down to their level, but we will stand tall, pick the Pats, and wait until the dead of night to deal with scoundrels in our midst.

Oh, I know many will  be sorely tempted to bet against the Pats this week. The Broncos have a great defense and we have no weapons left. And who ever heard of Belichick getting into the the mind of a rookie quarterback? That would be crazy! But the weaker kneed, the sunshine soldier, will gather his false courage and pick the Broncos, as well he should. Let him throw away his points.

Wow what a week is right !  3  ladies taking charge    Way to go Brandy and Peg and yours truly   Come on Diane and Karen let's have an all lady  sweep this year.  It's time for a change how does the Song go, "The times they are a changing 🎼."
Next week should prove interesting  -   I'll have to keep Deland down in the basement whoops there are no basements in Florida  😉   Maybe we can find a coffin for the ghost and lock him in so he is unable to gain m 👻   As far as the king of the north is concerned when he is at work late at night I'll hack into his computer when I'm in New Hampshire next week and put the whammy on it  💩   Yes at this point the boss will go to great lengths to have an all lady sweep  🏒 Only six weeks to go ladies hang in there 🏈
The best of the whole week though was the patriots pulling out that win Sunday what a game! 💙❤️
Brady rocks!  He's by far the best QB in my eyes - so intense, so disciplined, such a team player and motivator, a well-spoken young man for his team and not bad on the eyes either 👌
Seriously, how can anyone dispute his record, yet those sports announcers do every week - Here's to the next 6 weeks of powerhouse Brady bringing my beloved Pats through to another Superbowl !  I just may drive myself to California in February 🏈💙❤️

Week 10 Observations

1. Worst Week Ever. In the history of the league, this was the worst week ever statistically. The average points won was only 4.4, and only one member, Brandy, had a winning week. The rest of us suffered through 3-11, 4-10 and 5-9 and 6-8 weeks. Two members broke even — Peg and Jo.

2. Jo Widens Her Lead. Jo's 7-7 week was enough to widen her lead to 5 points over the Ghost. With the number of games dwindling, 5 points looks better and better.

3. What Happened? Lots of logical favorites lost, and some lost badly. The Jets, the Ravens, the Packers, the Eagles, the Rams, the Saints, the Raiders, the Broncos, the Seahawks and the Bengals all lost. Who could have expected so many upsets in one week? Except for Jo, of course.

4. What Now? The landscape has changed considerably after this weekend. With the Packers, the Bengals and the Broncos now suspect, this week should be interesting. The Broncos and Eagles will have a new quarterback, the Pats lost a key receiver, the Saints are in disarray, and the Cowboys will have Romo back but are 2-7 on the year. What is with Seattle? Losing at home by a lot? The Eagles lost to the Dolphins? The Rams benched their quarterback? The Saints fired Rob Ryan? Will Rex make him his DC? Yikes?

5. Week Eleven. Broncos-Bears will be an interesting pick, as will Packers at the Vikes. Bengals at the Cardinals will bring two strong teams together, and the Bills at the Pats will cause a crisis in confidence for some in the league. We'll see.

6. The Crazy 90's. With Jo at 102, those chasing her bunched in the 90's. Ed has 97, Karen 96, Patrick and Wayne 95, Luke 94, Brandy 93 and Marc 92. The Commissioner suffered his worst week ever at 3-11. His only relief was knowing Deland had a 3-11 week as well.

This is a test from Joe Joe the totally totally magnificent

Observations from Week 9

1. Jo Ascends. It was a tough week for many, but the Boss took over first place from the Ghost with a 9-4 week. Joining her at 9-4 was lovely newby Peg Grandmaison. Jo has strung together several strong weeks and has been steadily rising. Reportedly, she is practicing her trash talking to compete with Omaha and Deland.

2. Windsor Locks and the Fro Advance. Diane and First Son Marcus also had 9 point weeks, but they both had 8-5 records and won Monday Night. The Fro has been inconsistent this year but continues to have solid weeks. Diane has distinguished herself by picking many winning underdogs.

3. How the Mighty Have Fallen, But Not Far. Both recent leaders the Ghost and Peterborough had horrid weeks, scoring well below the average with 5-8 weeks. However, both are still in the hunt, being 2 and 7 points behind the Boss. This was the second bad week in a row for Luke, and he attributes it to "taking too much time making my picks." Apparently he did better when he picked all the games in less than a minute.

4. The 90's Rule.  The top five are all in the 90's. Jo has 95. Ed 93. Karen 92 and Wayne and Patrick 91. With Ed's bad week (finally!), the leadership has tightened up.

5. Big Upsets. The unanimous and near-unanimous league picks were a mixed bag this week. While the Pats, the Jets , the Giants and the Eagles held serve, heavy favorites the Chargers, the Saints, the Falcons, and the Broncos fell.

Picking and Re-picking

The league office wants to reiterate that it is doing all it can to make our picks charts reusable, that is that members can pick just the Thursday night game, then go back and pick the rest of the schedule. Despite using the option to do just that, our picks chart does not offer a second chance. Now, the IT department, headed by Guido Gonzales, will be putting an online link for members to use if they should want to finish their picks after picking Thursday. This should allow members at least two chances to pick their winners.

Also, members who want to dispute their choices as represented in the picks chart should write the Commish requesting a checking of their picks. The Commish will then oversee an investigation of the issue. If the picks chart is found to be accurate, he will instruct the IT department to send the petitioning member a screenshot of his or her choices as received from the survey monkey organization.

Week 7 Observations

1. Luke gained a point this week on the Ghost and is now tied for first place with 76. Karen continues to show her football acum by tying husband Wayne and Marcus to win the week with 12 points. She is only one point behind. Suffice to say that if she had stayed true to the Pats this season, she would be tied with Ed and Luke. But alas temptation is triumphant, and who can resist it when a fine team like the Bills, coached by the immortal Rex Ryan hosts the Pats? Except for the rest of the league, minus Deland (and what a wonderful phrase! Minus Deland, Minus Deland. It is delicious to say!).

2. Marcus continues his rise in the standings. Burdened with a poor start, he has put together some good weeks to climb to respectability. On the other hand, Sean stumbled to a 7-7 week. He can take solace in the fact that he is still ahead of Kevin, mired at 65.

3. Jo continues to be competitive, and her 9-5 week kept her in third place with 73 points. Wayne and Patrick round out the 70's with 72 each. Marcus is knocking on Heaven's door with 69, but the rest of the league is grim. To be 10 points behind half way through the season is daunting indeed. So many points to be gained, so many others who have to stumble. But hope is everlasting, and we soldier on, fueled by purity of spirit and the American Way.

4. In other news, the SAC voted to award Peg Grandmaison a 50 point gratuity, based upon Deland's impassioned proposal to welcome her well. It was passed unanimously, then vetoed by the Commish, saying he feared charges of favoritism from some of the less civilized of our members.  But Deland said Omaha was okay with it and then demanded an immediate veto override, and he prevailed. The Commish mumbled something about how he would remember this, but the points were awarded. The Commish then stated that he placed a codicil on the override that would leave it to him to decide if Nashua were to win the league.

5. The Pats have a tough Thursday night game this week, and members have already complained about the possibility that Big Red and Deland will once again abandon our beloved Pats. But the Commish has reiterated once again that it is not technically against the rules to pick against the Pats. In effect, there is nothing he or anyone else can do to stop them.

More IT bungles

Hey commish you need to recount my picks again. I should be 9-5 on the week not 8-6. So my points total should be 53.

SAC Accepts Grandmaison Nomination

The Senior Advisory Committee has accepted the provisional nomination of Peg Arnold Grandmaison as a member of the GoZone Football League. The vote was unanimous.

Ms. Grandmaison is a long time resident of Nashua, NH and worked for over 45 years for Sanders, Associates, later known as BAE. Her job as Senior Logistics Engineer had her supplying critical electronic supplies and devices to the Navy, Air Force and Army. This required intense knowledge of the supplies and devices supplied, of software necessary for their implementation and of the computer programming of the devices.

Ms. Grandmaison is a close personal friend of the Commish and is enjoying her stay in Florida, except for "the bugs, snakes, humidity and heat."

Saints-Eagles Snafu, Alternative Picks Process and Multiple Response Option

The Commish has been investigating a glitch in the Eagles-Saints picks for week 5. Apparently, the computer defaulted to the Saints choice, as Ed clearly noted in his post.  He was not assigned a wrong pick for it, however, as his score had already been changed on the week 5 master picks chart. However, Omaha and Big Red did indeed pick the Eagles and their scores have been adjusted. A check  of every Eagles-Saints pick revealed that Kevin and Jo's picks had been reversed, with Kevin picking the Saints and Jo the Eagles. Sean also picked the Eagles while being assigned the Saints and his score has been adjusted as well. The investigation also found that Kirk had picked the Saints, not the Eagles and his points total has also been adjusted.

The League Office apologizes for the glitch and is working hard to make sure the program doesn't malfunction again. The Commish notes that he was in transit to Fort Myers at the time and was using an unreliable computer to assign the picks.

The correct protocol for addressing a discrepancy in individual picks is to post it on this blog and have the Commish investigate and remediate the matter. More petulant league members might make wildly inaccurate conspiracy theories which attack the integrity of the Commish.  Omaha has decided to use this blog to make his picks, which is his right. However, the correct protocol is to make the picks as a list, in the same order as the picks chart and using the teams' names, not their cities.

Regarding Brandy's suggestion to use the multiple response option on pick charts, the Commish appreciates the initiative she used to research the survey monkey site and discover that option. However, the Commish has been aware of that option and has chosen it on every picks chart he has published, so when people cannot make multiple choices from their computers, the problem would seem to be with the survey monkey site.

Below is the correct Week 5 Stats.

Tuesday, October 13, 2015

Neither Karen nor I picked the Saints this past weekend.

We do a lot of fun, crazy things on this board, but changing picks is out of bounds.

Effective immediately I will no longer be making my picks through the survey.  I will make them on this board at the 11th hour.  I have suspected other "errors" previously, but since I can't view the survey results, have no proof.

Omaha

Week 5 Correction

I had the Eagles and not the Saints as the chart shows.  The Saints-Eagles row of the Chart could be cleaned up as all the picks shown are the Saints.

Ed
Much thanks to my brother for trying to involve me in his scheme to be more popular in the league . You just keep me out of it . Im having a hard enough time picking the correct teams or for that matter even remembering to pick . This week i am prompt , Tuesday and done !!!

Into the 50's

After five weeks, certain trends have been established. Five members have reached the 50 point threshold, with Lucas leading the pack as he has since week 1. Luke's 57 points is closely followed by 53 from Jo and Ed, and 52 from Karen and Patrick.

Winning Week 5 was Luke and Diane with 12 points. Also having a good week was Ed with 11 points and "Wayne, Jo and Kirk with 10 each.

League members are reminded that completion of the picks charts should be done as early as possible. IT Director GiGi Gonzales said pick charts completed close to the Sunday games can cause problems for his staff.

Something is a Miss...

After more than an hour and at least seven failed attempts, I was finally successful in logging into the Go Zone.

And now I find the Commie Commish has accused me (& Deland) of hacking into this site.

Suspicion of Deland I can understand, but really, me?  I'm barely able to find the power button to my computer...

So clearly our paranoid Commish is suffering from a mental disorder, seeing monsters and plots advancing from every direction.

Why all this sudden fear of silly plots?   Why all this paranoia in the Commish's office?  What has changed?

Aha!

I think I've got it!

Could it be the mysterious Peg??

Does anyone besides our unstable leader really know this Peg?  Can anyone vouch for her?  Is she really the sweet, innocent lass the Commish claims she is?

Is she computer savvy, capable of such a dastardly deed as the Commish has accused the innocent Omaha of?

This calls for an investigation and serious vetting of her application to the Go Zone.

Let me be the first to welcome you Peg to the dysfunctional group and in caution you to the bazaar antics of Kevin. He can be very clever  and Cunning  through his use of Verberage. But mind you he is much like in old magician with something up his sleeve.

On an other note, why does it look the the commish is backing away prior to getting a lip lock?

Chapped lips?

Investigation into Omaha and Deland's Perfidy

The Commissioner has received disturbing information concerning the ever rebellious dual of Omaha and Deland. It seems that a computer glitch was actually caused by a hack directed by, if not performed by Omaha and Deland.

The Commissioner was approached by former head of IT Guido Gonzales, who brought forth information implicating Big Red and The Boss in the replacing of week 5 picks with a reprint of week 4's. As this would cause confusion and chaos, it could not and would not be tolerated. However, a cursory investigation cleared both fine woman and brought suspicion on their surly spouses.

The Commissioner then initiated an official investigation of the incident, after rehiring Mr. Gonzales and promoting him to Head of IT for Life.

The Commissioner also commended Granby for his investigative efforts and for his loyalty to the league. He was nominated for the position of Special Investigator for the league. If awarded the position, Granby would continue to ferret out conspiracies against the league, against the Commish and against humanity. He will have subpoena power.

On a further note, the Commissioner announced the SAC voted for provisional acceptance of Peg Arnold Grandmaison as a league member. The Commissioner released a photo of Ms. Grandmaison.

The Commish has spoken.

Thursday, October 8, 2015

As many of you are aware or should be ~ the commish took a brief  break from the southern hospitality and went north to the live free or die home of the elite for a few days. Before departing he had a simple request for all to fill out there picks as soon as possible.

So ~ I went onto the gozone and quickly realized that the posts were a repeat of week 4 and listed as week 5.

I called my bratty sister to see if she had the same mistake on her computer or was it just a glitch unique to mine. She told me that it was not just mine and tried to convince me to just fill it out with all the winning teams of week 4 and we would be hero's. She was sure that no one else would catch on.

Having no part of her deceptive ways I contacted Mr. Gonzales (head of the geek department).
It was only a matter of minutes that he traced the ip addresses back to Karen G and Joanne 's computers.

It was at this point I was shocked and devastated for a number of reasons!

I then called the commish to tell him of the findings to which he further explored and discovered that the two villains were actually Kevin and Wayne working together using there wives computers to disrupt and undermine the credibility of the commish.

This unacceptable behavior and must not be tolerated! Action must be taken against these two immediately! What would Ed (the ghost) do?

Your thoughts?

By the way just incase you are wondering, the picks were corrected the same day thanks to the diligent efforts of the commish and to most the process was seamless.

Sorry sister!

GG is Gone!

Omaha's observant nature has resulted in the termination of IT specialist Guido Gonzales. Mr. Gonzales has repeated shown a disrespect and disregard for league members, harassed those seeking IT help and exhibited a work ethic that can only be called "sloppy."

The latest Gonzales' failing was omitting the Monday Night game from the week 4 pick chart. When asked to fix it, Gonzales reported used a kaka word to describe the commissioner—the commissioner, of all people! As a result, the commissioner himself, though on a well deserved 10 day leave, leapt into action and solved the problem. A revisitation of the Week 4 Picks Chart by members should allow them to pick the Monday night game. All previous pick charts have been recorded, so members should not have to pick the first 14 games.

The Commissioner lauds member Omaha for his forthright reporting of the problem. And, in fairness to Gonzales, he has been given Omaha's address and phone number.

The Commish has spoken.

Anybody home?

Hey!  Yoo-hoo - IT Department, are you there?

This week's survey contains yet another mistake.  The Monday Night game, Detroit at Seattle, has been omitted from the survey.

Of course, this could be an "intentional" typo, setting the groundwork for the Commish to be the only member to correctly pick the Monday night game.

Yours in proofreading. . .

Can vouch for the Commish

Our Commish has rightfully been accused of numerous grievous misbehavings and abuse of power during his rein of terror, but this is one time I can vouch for his accuracy and rare case of honesty.

Ever the slippery shyster, he adeptly sidesteps responsibility for the typo in the bylaws, i.e., incorrectly typing "with" instead of "without" in a critical sentence affecting litigation, he without batting an eyelash blames it on the incompetence of the IT  Department.

Well, for once he is most certainly speaking the truth.   As all of you undoubtedly recall, I was repeatedly subjected to the incompetence of the IT Department throughout last year's GO Zone football prognostications.

I was unable to log into the Zone for almost the entire season.  When I sought the IT Department's assistance in correcting this problem, the problem worsened.  Thus, I had to phone or email my picks to the Commish.

And then, after the season had ended, all of my login problems magicly disappeared.

So when the Commish tells you the IT Department is incompetent, believe him.

If you're still not convinced, remember - our Commish is the IT Department.

Section 5 Clarity, Brandy's Apology, Omaha's Treachery

Quite a few members have availed themselves of blog authorship privileges, and the Commish feels the need for league office participation in their remarks.

As Omaha correctly notes, the section 5 language is in error. However, a quick look at the SAC's notes for the meeting that accepted that language shows it to be "without" not "with." It seems the IT Department once again incurred errors in transcription while posting to the By-Laws. So, any legal action will still need the Commissioner's blessing. It should be noted that the Commish formally rejected Deland's petition over the weekend, and that the only recourse for Deland is court action if allowed by the Commish.

Brandy's gracious apology was welcomed by the Commish as exemplary of how league members should comport themselves in dealing with the league office and the Commish. Brandy shows good judgment in attacking Deland on his scoundrel ways, luring her into an unfounded and untrue sense that members get extra points for sole winning picks. She would be wise to avoid Deland altogether.

And finally, we hope Brandy and the rest of the league members, sees how fast Omaha can turn on anyone foolish enough to think him an ally. His reckless and rash accusations have more often that not been proven to be complete fabrications. It is more likely than not that he will turn on any league member to advance his own misbegotten goals.

The Commish has spoken.
