The Commissioner's Week 5 Observations

The return of the real officials seems to have marked the return of success in the members' picks. The commissioner believes that this will lift the spirits of members who were moribund about their success this year.

Some observations:

Pick of the Week. The Commish's son Marcus was singular in his pick of the Bears over the Cowboys. Who saw that coming? He credited his pick to an excellent upbringing.

Winner of the Week. Aforementioned Marcus was the overall winner with 13 points for the week. He was tied with The Ghost and Sean with a stellar 12-3 record.

Overall Leader. Easy Ed, AKA "The Ghost" for his virtual absence from the GoZone's musings, has 43 points to lead the league. Connecticut Kirk has 41, Kate has 39, and Cuz Wayne and JoJo have 37. Diane and Kevin have 36 while Sean and Marc have 35.

Welcome Back! Sean breaks into the leader column with his fine week, after being missing in action for, well, forever.

Reverse Picks of the Week. Diane picked the Raiders over the Bronco's in a victory of hope over experience. The plodding Raiders look horrible, but Manning can make a lot teams look like that. Diane has the distinction of being the first ever Double RPOW with her pick of the Ain'ts over the Packers, although they were very competitive in that game.

Unanimous Picks. All three of the league members' unanimous picks won. The Ravens took care of the Browns, the Pats the Bills and the Falcons the Panthers.
