Kevin Stumbles. This week sees a new leader in points and a tightening of the standings overall. With Kevin's stumble, Bran and Ryan took the lead with 94 points, followed by Kevin and Sean with 92, then Mike and Wayne with 88, then JoJo with 85. Ed, Marc, Luke and Kate follow with 84, 83 82 and 81, respectively.
Bran and Ryan Surge. Strong all season, Bran and Ryan are showing staying power. Using a unique picking method, they are in the lead. With the season winding down (or, curiously, I could also say winding up!), they are in the best position to win it all, seeing as most of the playoff games will be pretty predictable. The one blemish on their record is, of course, picking against the Patriots. Unfortunately, that will always be on their record,
Picks of the Week. Bran and Ryan picked the Jets, the only owner to do so. The Commissioner picked the Bills over the Fins. Luke picked the Lions over Tampa Bay, a prescient pick if there ever was one. But Bran and Ryan take the honors this week because of the importance of that Jet victory. It might keep the Chargers out of the playoffs.
Trends. Owners who pick the favorites have been very successful. I know Ed for one relies upon the points to guide his choices, but analysis of the picks shows that the vast majority of owners pick the favorite, although those who don't have made some gains recently. This is a statistic the Commissioner will look at more closely in the future.
Owner Inquiries. Noting Kevin's 7-9 effort this week, Cousin Wayne wonders if there has ever been another owner to pick below .500. Exhaustive research shows that both Sean and JoJo were 6-7 for week 8 and Easy Ed was 6-8 during week 10. Ed then shoulders the ignominy of having the lowest percentage at .428 to Kevin's .437. Sorry Ed.
Commissioner Ruling. The Commissioner has considered Cousin Wayne's suggestion that Kevin's column of picks, given his recent lack of success, be relocated to the right of the coin toss, but feels that would be inappropriate at this time. The Commissioner is, of course, grateful for any and all suggestions that would improve the success of the league.
