Audit

 Wayne's audit showed that Nick was short-changed a point through an addition error. His week record was 10-6, and his overall point total is 145, not 144. 

Wayne accidentally signed out and he doesn't have his sign-in or password recorded anywhere, so he will not be able to post for a while. The Senior Advisory Council is debating whether to show sympathy to Wayne or to celebrate.

 Nebraska lost the first set against Pittsburgh tonight, then rallied to win the next 3 sets and the match, and now play in the national championship game against Wisconsin this coming Saturday on ESPN2 at 7 PM Eastern time.

Volleyball Final Four Play tonight!

 College Volleyball's National Tournament continues tonight, as the Final Four teams square off beginning with Louisville - Wisconsin at 7 PM Eastern time.  

Nebraska will face Pittsburgh sometime around 8:30 or so.

Louisville, rated No. 1 this season, is playing in it's first Final Four, as is Pittsburgh.  Wisconsin is making is 4th straight and 5th overall appearance in the final four.

Nebraska is making its 16th appearance in the final four and has won the national championship 5 times.

BUT - keep your eyes on Wisconsin.  They have two monster hitters, one 6'-7" tall and the other, I believe, 6-9.  Sheesh...

But, keep your eyes on Nebraska's No. 26 -- Lauren Stivrins, -- playing in her 4th final four.  It's easy to keep your eyes on Lauren as she is 6-5 and absolutely georgious! 

The two winners tonight will meet for the national championship Saturday night around 7 PM Eastern.

For the past couple of weeks, I've been receiving numerous advertisements on my website.  I can't seem to block them, and deleting them simply results in a new one popping up.

There is only one reason why a company, i.e. Google, would want and especially demand my email address.

If you refuse to put in your email, then you will need to find another way to make your picks. You can text them to me, but they need to be in the order of the picks list. The email is restricted to the forms app and is used to send emails to members, so I am not sure how it will cause unwanted emails to you, and you already have your emails possessed by the blog, so this will hopefully work the same way. Whenever a post is made, emails are sent to league members. This should work the same way.

Let me know what you decide.

Hey Commish:  I'm somewhat concerned with including my email along with my weekly game picks.  My first impression and fear is that it will flood me with unwanted emails and advertisements.

Not sure I'm going to do that.

Week 13 Audit

I have completed my Week 13 audit and find two errors in the Commish's numbers.

The Brat (Judy) - The Commish had her picks results correct, but made a simple error in his addition, resulting in her being shorted one point.  Her correct power stat total is 130.

Sean - The Commish gave Sean an 8-6 record for Week 13, overlooking the fact Sean had picked the Jets to defeat the Eagles when in fact they lost that game.  Sean's total was reduced one point and now correctly stands at 124 power points.

The Commish wanted to penalize Judy two points for insulting both the Commish and the Auditing Department CEO, but the CEO took the higher ground and declined the offer.

Corrections

 

Judy was 10-4 with the Monday night bonus for 11 points. She had 119, so she is now at 130.

Sean was 7-7, not 8-6. His pick of the Jets was not counted incorrect. He didn't pick the Pats so he had 7 points for the week. He had 117 points previously, so his new total is 124.

Marcus was affected by this. His score was based on Sean's low score for the week, so he got one less than Sean, or 6 points, for a total os 121 points.

IMPORTANT

GG has included a new feature in this survey. By typing in your email address, you have the ability to choose that your picks be emailed to you. We feel that having your email associated with your surveys will allow for other communications from the main office. The email is mandatory for this feature so even if you don't want your picks sent to you, you have to put in your email. 

Also, we will be going back to typing in our names, rather than choosing from a list.

Also, it seems that members can fill out the survey more than once, thus allowing those who use the survey for Thursday night picks to resubmit the form for the rest of their picks.

Potential New Survey Problem

 

Because the survey company is new to me, I am not sure if people can fill out the survey more than once. Quite a few of you fill out just the Thursday Night game and redo the survey for the weekend games. That might not be possible with the new survey. It might be better to either text me your Thursday night pick or fill out the entire survey before submitting it.

I will work on it to see what is up, but the answer might be next week.

Thoughts from GG

 Well, Google has kicked me off their platform. Something about bad behavior, blah, blah, blah. So, the Commish is allowing me to use his email until my lawyers are done suing Google. His only stipulation is that I don't let on that he agreed, so don't tell anyone, okay?

Anyway, Deland and Omahahahahaha some league members are upset that this Tray guy seems to be uncommonly lucky, if you know what i mean. I tell them that anyone named after a kitchen utensil is hardly a threat. I mean really, Tray? What is his middle name? Table? Will his brothers Coffee Cup and Soup Spoon be joining the league as well? As everyone knows, a guest member cannot win the Millie or the Chappie. Only official members can win those honors.

Well, that brings up what it takes to be a league member. As everyone should know because they are written in the Rules, Regulations and By-Laws, to be members, people must fill out the admission form and loyalty oath. They then must be voted in by the Senior Advisory Council. Once all that is done, they must be in good standing with the Dues Coordinator (who is me). The Rules explains all of this, so I would assume Kate and Tray have read them and simply are not interested in actually competing for the Millie and the Chappie.

And it is not only Kate and Tray who are not competing for the titles. Sean hasn't paid his dues since...let's see...well, never. So we started in 2012 and now Sean owes the league $90 plus carrying costs, $40, and late fees $30, adding up to $160. Lucky for Sean, he has never come close to a title, so he can play each week secure in the knowledge that he wouldn't win anyway, so why pay the dues? Statistically, Sean has the same chance of winning the league championship whether he is a regular member or a guest member.

Sadly, the King of the North is also tardy with paying his dues, owing the league $10 from last year and $10 from this year.
